Platonic Philosophy

Platonism is the name for the spiritual philosophy founded by the ancient Greek philosopher, Plato of Athens, who lived in the fourth century BCE, and is famous for his dialogues featuring his teacher Socrates.

The essence of Platonism is the conviction that philosophy is a way of life, the contemplative aspect of which is striving to perceive the eternal principles and divine Forms that make up the reality behind the apparently changing motions and processes of the world around us, and the practical aspect is orientating our life and morality upon the vision of that eternal reality.
